Using Chirai · Chapter 8

Publishing and domains

Publishing puts your site on the internet at its own address. It needs a plan from Starter (₹799/month) — see Plans and billing.

Publish

Press ↑ Publish in the Studio. Chirai makes a production build, puts it live, then opens the live site and checks it. It takes about 2–5 minutes. Your address is yourname.chirai.dev.

After the first publish, page changes go live by themselves about 30 seconds after your last edit, and records and text changes from Manage site are live within a minute.

Your own domain

Starter includes 1 custom domain, Pro 3, Agency unlimited.

  1. Open Domains and choose the site.
  2. Don't have a domain yet? Search there — Chirai checks availability for .com, .in, .co.in, .co, .store, .shop, .app and .online and links to registrars.
  3. Add the records Chirai shows at your registrar:
Your addressRecordNameValue
yourshop.comA@76.76.21.21
www.yourshop.comCNAMEwwwcname.vercel-dns.com
shop.yourshop.comCNAMEshopcname.vercel-dns.com

Sometimes a TXT record named _vercel is also asked for, to prove the domain is yours — Chirai shows it if needed. The Domains page has click-by-click steps for common registrars.

  1. Chirai checks every 10 minutes (or press Check now), creates the https certificate, emails you, and republishes the site on the new address.
TipOn Cloudflare, set the records to DNS only (grey cloud), not proxied.

Your code

  • ↓ Code downloads the whole site. Included on Pro and Agency; on Free and Starter it's ₹499 one-time per site.
  • ↗ GitHub exports it to a private repository (add a GitHub token in Settings first).
  • You can host the code yourself: import the repository into your own Vercel account. Settings → Hosting has the steps.

Taking a site down

In My Apps, Delete takes the live site offline and deletes its data. It can't be undone — download the code and anything you need from Manage site first.
